Our contract with Blade Runners includes two leaf removal services per season, usually once each in November and December. The first was scheduled for about two weeks ago. However, wet leaves don't blow well. Weekly rains have delayed the BR schedule for everyone. We heard this morning that BR will try again this week. Stay tuned.
Hickory Cluster had gotten bumped from the tree removal schedule last week due to rain and we are now scheduled for leaf removal first thing tomorrow morning, Tuesday 11/29/11.
As we noted above, the Landscape Committee confirmed this morning that Blade Runners scheduled the delayed November leaf removal for this week. However, rain is predicted for early Tuesday morning, and will most likely delay their work again. We are awaiting confirmation of a specific date. FAIRFAX FORECAST 930 PM EST MON NOV 28 2011 .MONDAY NIGHT...50 PERCENT CHANCE OF SHOWERS. .TUESDAY...CHANCE OF RAIN NEAR 100 PERCENT. .TUESDAY NIGHT...CHANCE OF RAIN 50 PERCENT.
I hear leaf blowers! Looks like Blade Runners is trying to beat the slow-moving rain that should have already started. Now raining south of us and on it's way. Good deal.

Jim ... please see Cluster Cleanup item in Landscape Committee email from Sara earlier this week. And please connect with your Block 1 neighbor Michael Smith across the street. We look forward to your help this weekend.
Email is funny. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. For many reasons. And it's easy to overlook, even if received, especially if a specific message is only one of many. Since you are an active HC blogger, thought your email was well known and everything worked as it should have. I guess not. Will forward my copy to you.
Thanks Michael. Changed to comcast some time ago. It works very well. Was probably sent to the old e-mail address. Not a problem. We will be out this weekend to help with chores the landscapers could not get done!
Email is another department so to speak, but glad I could assist. Michael Smith is leading the Block 1 effort, so please connect with him. I'm sure he will will appreciate whatever you can do. As will the entire cluster.
Will be out of town on Sat, but definitely will check in with Michael Smith on Sun morning. We have been getting our hands dirty for many, many, many years here.
What's going on with the landscaping? There are leaves everywhere, don't we pay to have this cleaned up?

ReplyDeleteThe Oct. HC Board Minutes and Oct Landscaping Minutes mention a possible HC Cleanup. Has any time/projects been finalized?
